Elegant and Romantic Downtown Chicago Wedding

Taj and Jeremy’s Elegant Romantic Chicago wedding at The Intercontinental was exactly what Taj dreamt of when she first hired her amazing planner, Michelle at LOLA Event Productions. Equal parts sweet and elegant, I couldn’t have pictured a more perfect day for this well-deserving couple.

Taj + Jeremy

Taj and Jeremy met when they were both working as nurses in Indiana. Their friends conspired a group dinner where “somehow” the other members of the group didn’t show up until much later. This left Taj and Jeremy enjoying a dinner just the two of them. This conspired dinner date lead to years of dates for the two of them. Taj and Jeremy are the perfect example of yin and yang in a relationship and watching the two of them together is always a joy to see.

The Wardrobe

To fit the romantic theme of the day, Taj wore an incredible gown from Monique Lhuillier. Monique Lhuillier is one of my favorite dress designers – her designs never miss the mark. The softness of the lace overlay and feminine full skirt contrasted with the structure of the bodice was just breathtaking. I could have photographed her in her beautiful gown all day. Jeremy looked dapper in his blue suit – an unexpected departure from a tux that pulled in the blues from the stained glass church windows as well as the blues from the florals and linens. The icing on the cake was getting to work with one of my favorite beauty teams in Chicago. Bianca Sansosti and her team always leave their clients looking beautiful. But even more than that – they truly capture the essence of what their client is wanting and just deliver. They make my job easy because the wedding party feels so confident in photos.

Elegant Romantic Chicago Wedding

Taj’s dream for her wedding was for it to feel like a fairytale and be a beautiful welcoming space for her guests to enjoy. Taj envisioned a wedding night that was romantic, warm, and inviting. Thanks to their planner Michelle and the amazing Chicago-based design team, HMR designs, Taj’s wedding of her dreams became a reality. The looks on Taj and Jeremy’s faces during their room reveal were priceless.

Guests were greeted with a champagne wall seating chart and then were welcomed in the Name of Room ballroom for the evening. Every table had a beautiful place setting and floral display. The head table had a stunning floral runner and the cake took a nod at Taj’s main inspiration, Beauty and the Beast.

Non-Stop Entertainment and Fun

Taj and Jeremy had the best entertainment for their guests planned. The entertainment started with Taj and Jeremy’s choreographed first dance that guests couldn’t keep their eyes off of. Then their loved ones were invited to join. Thanks to their DJ, DJ Chris Mix, guests spent the night laughing and dancing the night away.

Taj and Jeremy’s elegant and romantic wedding day was full of love, laughter, and excitement. They paired the joining of two families in a way that celebrated that unity, but also their individual styles. And they did it with a dose of fun – what more could you ask for?
