Nothing beats a Chicago engagement session during the summer. Chicago is my home base and will always be my favorite city in the United States. So it’s always a joy and fun to be able to photograph my couples here. We spent time exploring their Riverwalk and North Ave Beach Engagement session for Maggie and Louis.
Setting The Tone
For my couples, I want to ensure we’re genuinely highlighting their lives and stories in their session. Together we plan the locations and their outfits. Once we’re at the shoot, I want to make sure that the poses and interactions between one another are authentic to them. Maggie and Louis often walk on the river outside their apartment together. This made it a no-brainer to spend time there for some photos to capture their city life. And since they’ll be getting married at Theater on the Lake, Maggie wanted to showcase the beautiful view guests will see from the venue and set the tone of their wedding day.
Baseball Meet-Cute
After college, Maggie and Louis often went to Cubs games with their friends. At one game, Maggie and Louis were with their mutual friends they met through high school and college. After meeting and hanging out, Louis and Maggie exchanged numbers. Louis had last-minute Cubs tickets, so for their first date, he invited Maggie to join him. After some time of hanging out, the two became an official couple after road-tripping to watch their friend play in a Browns and Patriots game.
Balance – The Key
The two love to travel to cities, ski, double date, hang with friends and family at BBQs and try new dates and restaurants. They are both light-hearted and silly, and they love how they can balance each other out with their personalities.
I truly enjoyed getting to be a part of the wedding process for Louis and Maggie. I always enjoy capturing the love of two people, and this love was so special to witness. Can’t wait for next summer!
