When it comes to supporters of my photography business, you don’t get much better than Tav + Taylor. I have been friends with Tav since middle school – we met in 6th grade! When I first began transitioning my business to focus on weddings and couples, they were always there to be my models. When it came time for these two to get engaged, I was thrilled to be a part of their Chicago Botanic Garden engagement session.
From Ice Cream to Forever
YEARS prior to their Chicago Botanic Garden Engagement Session, Tav and Taylor met as students at Butler University. Their first date was getting ice cream. They have been together for 4 1/2 years and have been enjoying ice cream together ever since.
In Their Own Words
We asked Tav + Taylor to describe their relationship. This was their response:

Date Nights
When they aren’t totally rocking killer outfits like their Chicago Botanic Garden engagement session, they love to stay at home, cook together and drink wine (they even make their own at home). If they want to go out instead, you can find them at an upscale Italian dinner with charcuterie, wine and ice cream for dessert.
The Proposal
This was a special one for me, since I have known them for so long and been so invested in their relationship. Because of this, Tav asked me to photograph their proposal. The proposal took place at Phillips park. Tav had notes and memories for Taylor down a path that lead to big marquee letters that said “Marry Me.” Her parents came in as a surprise. She had no idea any of us would be there – such a fun moment!
Now that they have knocked their Chicago Botanic Garden engagement session out of the park, I cannot wait to be a part of the next step in their love story.
