In-Home Newborn Photography

As a wedding photographer, I have the joy of photographing couples on one of the happiest days of their lives. It’s an honor to document couples’ relationship journey, starting with their engagement session, and then, as they start their chapter together as husband and wife. Laura and David are one of my former couples. I photographed their fall wedding at the Kimpton Gray in Chicago, IL in October 2019, and I was thrilled when they reached out to me about in-home newborn photography, as they welcomed their first baby boy, Jack, this summer. This newborn session took place in their cozy home, located in Naperville, Illinois.

Jack was content, wrapped in the arms of mom and dad. He was such a peaceful, sweet, and ADORABLE baby. Don’t even get me started on his tiny baby feet!! Their fur baby also joined in on the family fun. As new parents Laura and David were complete naturals. You could sense their deep love as a family in all those genuine tender moments they shared throughout the session.

While in college, I used to work for a company that photographed newborns in the hospital. Needless to say, I have lots of newborn photography experience. It is always such a treat to put my experience to use and have the opportunity to capture these precious moments for my former wedding couples. Being a part of these milestones means the world to me.

While I don’t market myself as a newborn and family photographer, I love offering sessions to my couples and referrals when my schedule allows. At home sessions are wonderful for newborn portraits. There is something about the comfort and calmness that comes with being in your own home. It was an absolute joy to capture this beautiful growing family and provide them with memories of this sweet season of life.
