I recently had the joy of capturing Liz and Jake’s Chic, Garden Inspired Wedding at Revel Motor Row in Chicago, IL. While getting to know them, Liz mentioned how much she loved candid photos stating that they “capture the true feel of the event”. They wanted to be able to “remember [themselves] enjoying the night more than anything!”. Capture candids, I did! And I can say with certainty that Liz, Jake, and all fo their guests had an amazing time together.

Their summer wedding had a classic, chic, vibe – from the flay lay of their white and black invitation suite, to the black bridal party attire, Liz’s chic wedding dress, and her classic, white rose bridal bouquet. They envisioned a garden theme with flowers, greenery, and natural light. Every detail was carefully chosen and planned, incorporating the couple’s vision. The reception was enchanting as green vines stretched across the glass window ceiling of Revel Motor Row. Then, there were the spherical chandeliers, which were an elegant touch to their garden party.

Before the ceremony, we headed to the Field Museum Campus to capture their wedding party portraits. The European architecture and grandeur of the building provided a beautiful backdrop.

As I photographed the bride and groom throughout the day, their love and connection was obvious. Jake has a fun, goofy demeanor that perfectly pairs with Liz’s calm and quiet demeanor. Liz finds his goofiness funny and fun, and they are both crazy about each other.

Chic Garden Wedding

Their wedding ceremony featured a circular wedding arch decorated with greenery, white roses, and smaller white flowers. The couple exchanged vows outside of the Revel Motor Row, with their close friend officiating the wedding. He did a wonderful job balancing the ceremony with the perfect combination of sentimental, sweet, and humorous moments. Their adorable dog, Henry, an English Golden, played a big role in their day as well, standing next to Jake during the ceremony. Henry’s sweet face was also seen on the personalized cocktail napkins at the reception.

As their wedding evening unfolded, Liz did a quick change into a second look – a stunning open-back, white party dress. Liz and Jake’s friends were a fun group that enjoyed celebrating the newlyweds out on the dance floor. Everyone in attendance had a great time dancing to the tunes of their live band, Bluewater Kings Band. It was an unforgettable night filled with so many wonderful memories!
