Getting Ready

Taylor got wedding ready surrounded by her closest friends, their cat, and their sweet dog, Hank at the couple’s condo. It was a cozy, laughter-filled morning. Meanwhile, Jock got ready with his guys at the venue, Revel Motor Row. He even got an extra surprise when Hank showed up for a sweet moment before the ceremony. I love when couples include their pets on their wedding day, and Hank seemed thrilled to be with his favorite humans!

An Emotional Ceremony

One of the most memorable and touching parts of the day was the ceremony itself. Taylor, looking stunning in her mermaid style wedding dress that had the most gorgeous and intricate lace designs, was walked down the aisle by her mom.

The bridesmaids wore mismatched dusty pink dresses, some solid and some in elegant floral patterns, each in a different style. Cocktail Hour

Cocktail hour at Revel Motor Row had a particularly fun, personal touch: a large crossword puzzle at the center of their beautiful lilac colored seating chart display. The inclusion of the crossword puzzle was a sweet nod to Taylor and Jock who always do the New York Times crossword together before bed. It was such a cute, meaningful detail, and guests loved engaging with it as they mingled.

For the reception, the space inside Revel Motor Row was transformed into something truly magical. Hanging white flowers and greenery floated above the dance floor, flickering candlelight created a warm, romantic atmosphere, and more colorful floral arrangements filled the tables.

Taylor and Jock fell in love with this iconic Chicago venue, Revel Motor Row, for its beautiful architecture, variety of spaces, and outdoor ceremony option, and it delivered in every way. From the gorgeous outdoor ceremony to the lively reception indoors, the venue gave them everything they wanted.

Dancing the Night Away

When it came time to open the dance floor, their wedding guests didn’t hold back and neither did the entertainment for the night! A live sax player teamed up with the DJ, giving the music an electric, party vibe that the guests couldn’t get enough of. The wedding party was lively, energetic, and ready to celebrate. There was nonstop dancing, laughter, and celebration all night long.

One thing Taylor and Jock shared with me when we first connected was how important it was for them to have photos that felt true to color, life, and emotion. They wanted their wedding photos to feel fun, candid, and real, not overly staged or posed. It was such a joy to capture those little in-between moments like the way they looked at each other throughout the day, how their friends hyped them up on the dance floor, the laughter during cocktail hour, the quiet moments and even the shared laughter between portraits. It was truly such an honor to capture these joyful, real moments for them to remember forever.

Taylor and Jock first met at a University of Illinois homecoming game, surrounded by mutual friends. That first meeting brought them to this moment with all their loved ones surrounding them as they exchanged vows and celebrated their future together.
