As summer comes to an end and we usher in fall, I’m still sitting here dreaming of all the stunning summer weddings I witnessed! Megan and Alex’s romantic Chicago Botanic Gardens wedding is one of those summer days I am still thinking about and will be for a while. Their gorgeous August wedding day was filled with warmth, joy, and love, perfectly complemented by the natural beauty of the gardens. The lush landscapes, colorful summer blooms, and timeless architecture of the venue provided a soft romantic atmosphere, which is exactly what the couple envisioned for their big day.

With a smaller wedding party, the focus remained on the couple and their love story, which made the day feel even more heartfelt and intentional. The bride looked stunning in her Maggie Sottero gown from Volle’s Bridal, a design that was both timeless and effortlessly elegant. She wore her hair swept up in low updo, and she carried the most beautiful bouquet of white and soft pink florals in her bridal bouquet, perfectly fitting for a romantic garden wedding.

Getting Married at Chicago Botanic Gardens
From the very start, Megan and Alex wanted a wedding day that felt intimate, timeless, and garden-inspired. The Rose Terrace was the perfect backdrop for their ceremony. This long aisle framed by tall, elegant trees created a shaded, serene setting for guests while also giving us gorgeous, natural light for photography. It felt private and peaceful.

English Walled Garden Cocktail Hour
Following the ceremony, guests were invited to the English Walled Garden for cocktail hour. This tucked-away space offered a cozy, romantic transition into the evening, with beautiful views and a sense of calm that set the tone for the celebration. Having the cocktail hour and reception spaces so close together made the entire day feel effortless and welcoming.

Romantic Garden Tented Reception
The outdoor tented reception was breathtaking. The design leaned into a soft, romantic garden style, with stunning florals by Vale Of Enna setting the tone. The arrangements highlighted blush tones, creams, and greenery. The floral design on the ceiling over the dance floor was by far my favorite. White flowers and greenery hung delicately from above creating a romantic fairy-tale like touch. The patterned pates, soft floral centerpieces, and tall candles made for a beautiful tablescape. Then, there was the view overlooking the water that was just picturesque, allowing guests to eat their dinner and enjoy the venue’s scenic grounds.

An Evening to Remember
One of the standout moments of the evening came during dinner when guests were treated to a performance by Mariachi Sirenas, an all-female mariachi band. Their music filled the tent with energy and joy, and it was such a unique and personal way to celebrate with loved ones. Later in the night, The DJ Firm with DJ Daily kept the dance floor lively and full.
Megan and Alex, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your summer wedding day. It truly was an evening to remember. Congratulations!
